PRIORITY TO PRACTICE SNAPSHOT

Understand what to address first.

Take a closer look at one shared priority

An important initiative can have broad support and still be difficult to put into practice.

It may be taking more effort than expected, without a clear explanation. The Snapshot examines your concern alongside selected documents to help you understand what may be getting in the way and choose a useful first response.

Is this right for you?

When it’s useful

You’re concerned about one important piece of shared work and want help deciding where to begin. Commitments may go unfulfilled, responsibilities may be unclear, or progress may depend too heavily on your attention.

You want an informed starting point before changing arrangements, committing resources, or undertaking a more extensive review.

The Snapshot focuses on one specific concern. It can involve teams within your institution, external partners, or both.

What we examine

We consider the arrangements most relevant to your concern, using your perspective and selected existing information. The inquiry helps identify possible explanations and questions worth examining further.

Leadership and governance

Who provides direction, who can make relevant decisions, and whether responsibilities and expectations are clear.

Resources and operations

Whether commitments appear to have the necessary time, resources, and authority, and where coordination or follow-through may be difficult.

Relationships and participation

How people contribute, whether responsibilities are manageable, and whether those involved can raise concerns and influence relevant decisions.

Evidence and learning

What existing information shows about progress, difficulties, and previous attempts to improve the work.

These areas guide a focused first look. The Snapshot does not examine every function in your organization or independently establish how everyone experiences the work.

What you receive

An initial interpretation

A concise written brief explains what appears to need attention, the information supporting that interpretation, and other explanations that may warrant consideration.

A recommended first response

Practical next steps help you decide what to address first. These may include clarifying responsibility, adjusting a working arrangement, testing an explanation, or gathering specific additional information.

A clear account of what remains uncertain

The brief identifies important gaps and distinguishes initial observations from explanations that have not yet been tested.

A findings conversation

A 20-minute conversation gives you space to question the observations, consider the recommendations, and choose your next step.

How it works

1. Discuss your concern

Tell us what you’re trying to accomplish and what’s proving difficult. We discuss fit and agree the scope, fee, schedule, and information-handling arrangements before you commit.

2. Define the inquiry together

A kick-off conversation helps clarify the priority, a recent example, and the decision you need to inform. ISG prepares a short summary for your confirmation and identifies useful existing information.

3. Examine the available information

We consider your responses to a brief assessment alongside selected records or relevant extracts. We explain what would be useful; you don’t need to prepare a presentation or assemble a large document pack.

The Snapshot draws primarily on your perspective and the information available. It does not include a separate exercise to gather additional participants’ perspectives.

4. Consider the findings and next steps

We explain what the initial information suggests, what remains uncertain, and what you could do next. The findings conversation helps you decide on a proportionate response.

How to interpret your findings

The Snapshot distinguishes documented information, your reported experience, and Impact Sphere Global's interpretation. It provides an informed starting point, with clear limits on what the available information can establish.

Where other perspectives or further investigation are needed, we explain why. A larger review is not an automatic next step; the recommendation depends on the question that remains.

The Snapshot supports decisions about one concern. It does not verify every practice, guarantee results, or replace specialist advice where that is needed.

Start with the concern you have

You don’t need to know the cause or arrive with a perfectly defined priority. Tell us what matters, what you’ve noticed, and what you’d like to be able to decide or change.

Timing and fee

 $249 pilot / $499 regular

We agree to the schedule before you commit, including the kick-off, preparation, and findings conversation. Timing depends on the agreed scope and availability of relevant information.

NEED A CLOSER LOOK?

If your decision requires different perspectives or a broader examination of institutional conditions and dependencies, an Operating Review, or Strategic Briefing may be more appropriate.

You don’t need to complete a Snapshot before choosing another service.
